The Interchange
Beginning in August of 2020, the process of creating this sculpture has dominated my life, and I can honestly say I am proud of how it has progressed. The story of its creation has been thoroughly documented on film, and the process of continuing the development of this sculpture has completed PHASE II, as of August, 2026, with only one more modification on my wishlist yet to be completed. This sculpture took almost three years to create, and for good reason.
Now, with the lighting completed and the sculpture now adorning the Interchange Theater Co-op lobby space, theatergoers are welcomed into Milwaukee’s home for long-form Improv by a true representation of what it means to be part of a truly collaborative organization, where everyone from locals to people just passing through are welcome to share and develop their skills, and go out and beyond into the world to utilize their talents and spread the word of our Theater and its immense impact on Milwaukee and the Midwest as a whole.
PHASE I of Installation Complete! PHASE II has been completed as of August, 2026, with fully customizable lighting integrated into the sculpture for less than a quarter of the weight of the PHASE I lighting. These LEDs can be customized into any color, pattern, effect, rate of change, and can even mimic traffic on the highway as though gazing upon a map of the Marquette Interchange, located directly outside and beneath the Interchange Theater space.

Ampersymbol - Ampersand Theatre Company
The Ampersymbol was my first privately commissioned sculpture to live in its own public space. The story of the Ampersymbol begins with Joel Zawada’s original design, and continues with me telling him that I had an idea for a sculpture. Scroll down and watch the video for the full tale as it happened (It’s worth the watch)! NOTE: This sculpture is currently missing and unaccounted for. It was removed from its home (by Ampersand Owners Joel Zawada & James Boland) when the Ampersand Theatre Company imploded in the Spring of 2020. I have not been informed as to its whereabouts or condition.
